The challenge
- Provision and operation of the central SD-WAN infrastructure as a “full managed service” for connecting the stores via various connection technologies (SD-WAN underlay) as well as the SD-WAN edge devices in Fressnapf stores.
- All stores will receive a new network infrastructure, the “DIGITAL STANDARD”, which will enable Fressnapf to offer digital services in the stores nationwide in the future.
The solution
- Europe-wide roll-out so that all stores have a defined digital standard.
- As an underlay (access connection in the Fressnapf stores), MPLS VPN as well as Internet access connections (e.g. DSL or mobile communications) are used here.
- The simultaneous use of different access technologies as well as the use of a failover mechanism is possible and can be provided depending on the service. A Network Access Control (NAC) solution with an optional manageable LAN switch is also provided, which is used to assign connected LAN clients to a specific VLAN based on their MAC address.
